A new collaboration between Cameratina and Opera in Oborne announced

 

We are delighted to announce that Cameratina will be returning to Oborne, Dorset on February 14th and 15th 2026.

 

The 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence falls in 2026 and this allows us to take as our theme the unique contribution that North America is making to opera.

 

A personal passion of our Artistic Director, Susanna Stranders, this music showcases how other genres, notably jazz and blues, is changing what is expected of opera.

 

We are delighted that Susanna will be joined by Gweneth Ann Rand, the acclaimed soprano and mentor, fresh from her role at the ENO in Jake Heggie’s critical success Dead Man Walking.

 

Gweneth and Susanna together will select six of opera’s top emerging young stars to work with over the weekend to create two very special evenings of music.
